This was the best burger I've ever had. I would have eaten 35 if I could fit that much in my stomach. Get the one with the chipotle aioli and treat yourself.
Also had a super good beer list and had plenty of options. Really cool atmosphere too! v. hipster and super fast service. -

Mash Tun was on the final leg of me and my friends' Portland bar/food hop, so I was pretty drunk by the time I arrived here. However, I had to try out some local beers, and the 2 sour beers I ordered were both good. (I'm sorry I can't elaborate - I was drunk.)
I liked the basement vibe of the place (except of course, when it came to using the bathroom as there was only 1 stall for women) and the place was able to accommodate all 11 of us cozily on a large picnic table. Good beers, fries, and a table to fit all of us = good hazy memories. -

A pretty decent, sort of divey spot in Portland to grab drinks and a bite.
My friends and I unintentionally ended up here after their neighbor Central Provisions' wait was far too long during Labor Day weekend.
Luckily snagged three seats at the bar and ordered a few dishes off their relatively short menu for our dinner/last meal before making our trip back home.
We ordered: half dozen oysters, chicken tacos, burger, chicken sandwich, and a few local beers. All were pretty good and tasty, although the chicken tacos were spiced with what tasted like your average McCormick chicken taco seasoning (beyond that, they are pretty decently sized and loaded nicely).
The beer selection is extensive however and offers a good local selection. Wouldn't be my first choice for a meal in the future as nothing was necessarily memorable, but definitely a nice overall vibe and good place to hang otherwise. -

The perfect spot to have a cold one with the boys(and girls). Just all around a perfect hangout spot no matter who you're with.
Lots of beers to chose from and they have a pretty good sized menu to work with. The burger was delicious, juicy and tender. The plant burger was shockingly good as well. I would definitely recommend trying both. The tacos were also packed with filling and by that I meant the meats.
Awesome spot to grab a bite and drink. -

I have to admit, I had pretty high expectations for this place. I had heard good things from some friends about their burgers. They have a great location, right in the heart of Old Port, that makes for a fun night out. I was quickly let down.
It took quite some time for a waiter to bring menus over, despite the restaurant being slow. He was very friendly and personable, so that made up for the bad first impression.
I ordered a cheese burger with fried egg and bacon. Overall, a pretty average burger. The bun was cold, but not a huge deal.
I was a little surprised to find that our check was more than I anticipated. On the menu, under burgers, it read "Add $2: cheese, fried egg, bacon". I understood this to mean that it was $2 for all three of these additions. I apparently misunderstood. It was $2 for each. My $6 burger quickly became a $12 burger, that wasn't even that good.
I was very disappointed in Mash Tun. I won't be returning.
